This hybrid role requires a minimum of 1–2 days per week in our London office. In 2027, the company will move to new offices near Liverpool Street and the hybrid arrangement will require a minimum of 4 days per week in the office.

UnderwriteMe is a UK‐based Insurtech creating disruptive SaaS solutions for the insurance industry, aiming to make life insurance more widely accessible by providing technology that protects people and their loved ones in inevitable events.

  • Decision Platform – a B2B enterprise platform that offers a best‐in‐market Underwriting Rules Engine used by over 35 insurers across the UK & Ireland, Asia‐Pacific and North America.
  • Protection Platform – a B2B2C marketplace used by over 15,000 advisors to power quoting and purchase of protection products in the UK.

Role Responsibilities

As a graduate Finance Analyst, you will support delivery of core financial reporting and finance operations activities across the four regions where UnderwriteMe operates (UK, North America, Asia, and Australia). The role is designed for someone beginning their accounting career and provides structured development and technical exposure. Completion of professional accounting examinations will run alongside on‐the‐job learning.

  • Financial Accounting & Control
    • Assist with the preparation of monthly general ledger entries, including accruals and prepayments, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations with guidance from senior team members.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Support the production of financial statements under relevant local accounting standards.
    • Assist in preparing global statutory and regulatory financial information.
    • Compile working papers for year‐end and audit processes.
  • Finance Operations
    • Support the Finance Operations team with routine processes within accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management.
    • Ensure invoices, payments and receipts are processed accurately and on time.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics or a related discipline (minimum 2:1 expected).
  • Strong numerical and analytical capability.
  • Excellent problem‐solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage workload across multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Excel with a willingness to develop advanced skills.
  • Applicants from other degree disciplines will also be considered if they hold an A Level in Mathematics at grade A, have a strong academic record, and can demonstrate a genuine interest in a career in Accounting. No prior professional experience is required; relevant academic knowledge, internships or industry placements are beneficial but not essential.
