As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for the execution of all test activity according to the Design Verification Plan (DVP). This involves both static testing on our in‑house static test rig, as well as dynamic testing at an external test facility.
Key Responsibilities- Understand the test requirements of multiple concurrently running programmes and prioritise test activity accordingly.
- Organise & execute test activities using the in‑house rig for static, abuse & cyclic testing.
- Lead the dynamic test activities at an external test facility.
- Comprehensively record data during tests and convert this into clear and concise test reports for both internal and external customers.
- Liaise with the development build team to ensure seat builds remain on schedule to align with the test programme.
- Support the continuous improvement of test methods, to improve efficiency and quality of test activity.
- At least an HND in a Mechanical Engineering discipline (or experience to a similar level).
- Previous experience of working in a test environment.
- Must have the ability to work under own initiative.
- Must have the ability to work under pressure while achieving challenging deadlines.
- Must have excellent written & verbal communication.
- Ability to analyse the results & data from multiple tests and present the data concisely to peers, Senior management and Executive leadership.
- Must have the ability to react effectively to regularly changing schedules, priorities and test requirements.
- Proficient use of standard workshop hand tools is essential.
- Valid UK driving licence and ability to drive a medium sized van (e.g. VW Transporter/Ford Transit) essential.
