The International HR Operations Director is a strategic and hands-on leader who oversees the delivery of efficient, compliant, and employee-focused HR services on a global scale. This role is responsible for establishing and managing employee service centres in the US, UK, and EU and other international locations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in global support and the setup of global service centres, driving a roadmap for operational excellence and scalability. This position requires strong leadership, expertise in global support structures, and the ability to partner with HR and business leaders to support rapid company growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish an operational framework across our International business: Develop and implement a global roadmap for HR service delivery, standardising processes and technology across different regions.
- Oversee International Service Centres: Lead and manage the operations of employee service centres in the UK, Europe and South America and other international locations, ensuring a high standard of service and support.
- Optimise HRIS Platforms: Drive the optimisation of HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, ServiceNow) to support global HR operations and employee service delivery.
- Define Metrics & KPIs: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) for International HR operations, focusing on case management, turnaround times, and employee satisfaction.
- Manage Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strong partnerships with international vendors to ensure effective service delivery and continuous improvement.
- Lead a multilocation team: Lead, mentor, and develop a globally dispersed team of HR professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Drive Change Management: Effectively manage the rollout of new processes, company integrations, mergers & acquisitions, and software implementations on an International scale.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with other HR teams (e.g., HR Business Partners, Total Rewards) and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless HR support.
- Embody Entrepreneurial Mindset: Thrive in a fast-paced environment with an entrepreneurial spirit, demonstrating urgency, accountability, and a commitment to team success.

Requirements
- 5+ years defining and managing a global team spanning 5 locations over 10 countries.
- 5+ years defining and enhancing operational processes for organisations that are 8,000+ employees.
- 10+ years of experience in human resources, with a strong focus on global HR operations.
- 5+ years of experience managing a team is required, with a track record of leading leaders.
- 3+ years of international experience is required, with a focus on setting up and managing global service centres.
- Strong proficiency in HRIS platforms is required; experience with Workday is a must.
- Experience with a case management system like ServiceNow is highly preferred.
Knowledge
- HR Policies and Practices: Solid understanding of core HR functions including HR Operations, learning, absence, recruitment across multiple regions.
- Translation and Localisation: Knowledge of professional translation standards, cultural nuances, and localisation practices in HR communications.
- Workday System Knowledge: Awareness of Workday functionality and terminology, especially in the context of global implementations and training support.
- Multilingual Communication: Understanding of how language impacts HR and employee experience, engagement, and clarity in HR processes.
- Project Support: Experience supporting HR transformation or system implementation projects, including documentation, training, and stakeholder engagement.
- Confidentiality and Ethics: Awareness of data privacy principles (e.g., GDPR) and ethical standards in handling sensitive HR information.
Candidate should be comfortable with an onsite presence to support collaboration, team leadership and cross functional partnerships.
Educational Experience
- Bachelor’s degree.
- SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR, or other relevant certifications are highly preferred.
