About the role: The Finance Lead is a hands-on role combining ownership of core financial processes, including month-end and reporting, with responsibility for delivering key financial initiatives across the group. The role balances BAU accountability with project delivery, ensuring that financial operations run effectively today while also driving improvements in how finance operates. This position requires someone comfortable working in a dynamic environment who can take ownership of both day-to-day financial outputs and change initiatives, from scoping through to execution and embedding sustainable improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver financial projects end-to-end, including scoping, planning, execution, and embedding outcomes into the business.
  • Drive improvements to financial processes, ensuring greater efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across the group.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across finance and the wider business to successfully implement change.
  • Maintain and strengthen financial controls, ensuring issues are identified, resolved, and processes are well documented.
  • Influence and align stakeholders without formal line management responsibility.
  • Take a hands-on approach to delivery, building, fixing, and implementing solutions directly where needed.
  • Apply strong financial insight to projects, ensuring a clear understanding of how financial outputs are generated.
  • Own and oversee month-end ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and control.
  • Balance BAU delivery with project work, maintaining high-quality financial outputs while driving change.

  • Strong grounding in core finance principles, with solid financial reporting experience.
  • Proven experience delivering finance or business change projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve financial processes, systems, or controls.

  • Self-sufficient, delivery-focused, and comfortable working without direct team management.
