Position Summary
In this role you will function as an integral member of the London Broking team working within our Analytics division and supporting our senior brokers and producers. You will provide technical servicing and development to the company’s reinsurance treaties, insurance portfolio and new business opportunities whilst conducting research, analysing client/market-wide data, and developing stochastic models through statistical, actuarial and scientific analysis.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop risk pricing and analytical models based on statistical, actuarial and scientific methods in order to reach accurate conclusions.
- Develop stochastic models and perform reinsurance optimisation analyses in order to evaluate and compare different reinsurance strategies and pricing.
- Streamline existing processes via automation techniques.
- Analyze, summarize, and/or review data to report findings, interpret results, and/or make recommendations.
- Respond to technical queries regarding data, trends or results from studies.
- Create tools to monitor and evaluate risk and claims trends for our clients.
- Liaise between Insurers and Reinsurers and ensure information is disseminated to the appropriate channels for action, both internally and externally.
- Represent Acrisure Re at client meetings, presentations, audits with Reinsurers and other events as appropriate.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with clients ensuring their needs, issues and requests are resolved satisfactorily.
- Domestic and overseas business travel may be required.
- Management of more junior staff.
Skills / Attributes Required
- Qualified actuary.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to think creatively.
- Experience in pricing and / or capital modelling within Lloyd’s / London market.
- Reinsurance experience a plus.
- Broad understanding of Lloyds’ and the London Market, including Solvency II.
- Strong working knowledge of the various standard reserving methodologies used in the market.
- Experience with programming languages used in data analytics, such as VBA, SQL, R, and/or Python.
- Comfortable presenting complex technical aspects to clients in a simplified manner.
- Practical experience working with Brokers and/or Underwriters.
