Finance Director - Maternity Cover (12-14 Months) in London

London Full-Time No working from home possible
Acre

Acre is delighted to be partnering with a leading international philanthropic organisation to appoint an Interim Finance Director for a 12-14 month maternity cover.

This is a rare opportunity to lead the finance function of a globally influential grantmaking organisation, overseeing a complex international grant portfolio deploying hundreds of millions of dollars annually. You'll partner with the Executive Team and Trustees, lead an established finance function, and play a key role in strengthening financial governance, business partnering and the implementation of a new enterprise finance system.

We're looking for someone with:

  • A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent)
  • Experience operating at Finance Director, CFO or Deputy CFO level, with ideally 15+ years' progressive finance leadership experience
  • Deep expertise in grant finance, financial governance, finance business partnering and UK charity finance
  • Experience overseeing large, complex, international grant portfolios while advising executive teams and trustees
  • Ideally a track record of leading finance transformation, including ERP or enterprise finance system implementation

Please note: Grantmaking experience is essential.

We're specifically looking to speak with Finance Directors who have experience within:

  • Large International Foundations
  • Grantmaking Organisations
  • UK Grantmakers
  • Research Funders
  • Global Funds
  • Grantmaking Mechanisms
  • International NGOs with significant onward grantmaking

This is a highly specialist appointment, and candidates without recent, hands-on experience of complex grantmaking finance are unlikely to be a suitable fit.
