Our client's services cover ecology, landscape architecture and planning, urban design, arboriculture, BNG, and land adoption, tailoring services to each client's requirements and to each specific site and stage of works. They work across a wide range of development projects, bringing significant value and savings to clients.
The firm is looking to appoint a Head of Ecology to lead this core pillar of their business. In a leadership role within the business, this person will report directly to the CEO and will lead a team of dedicated ecologists.
Key Responsibilities- Interfacing with clients: nurture existing (and form new) client relationships, building trust and rapport, offering high-level and more specific advice to assist them in achieving their aims and objectives for gaining approval to develop.
- Leading and managing the Ecology fee-earning workload and its projects, but ensuring a prioritisation of multi-disciplinary tasks and their coordination.
- Supporting, developing, and mentoring other team members.
- Working with the senior team to set and achieve business goals.
- Ensuring administrative and other duties are attended to in a routine, consistent, and professional manner.
- Upholding and demonstrating the company's vision, mission, values, and culture in all aspects of personal and professional behaviour.
- 5-10 years of delivering ecological consulting mandates in the UK.
- Ability to manage and coach a team, ensuring the workload is appropriately distributed and delivered to schedule.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with demonstrable experience of efficient and effective client communication.
- Experience and/or interest in working with developers, landscape architects, and other relevant client bases.
- Interest in helping to set and achieve SMART goals for the business and individual team members.
