An ambitious, rapidly growing successful PE SME acquirer seeks an experienced and ambitious standout Deal Director to help take the business to the next high level, by:
- Overseeing the full lifecycle of acquisitions, handling aspects of the acquisitions process.
- Taking ownership of building an acquisition “powerhouse”.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and execute successful acquisitions from early-stage negotiation, to signing of Heads of Terms through to completion.
- Evaluate and advise on deal pricing and structure.
- Manage and prioritise transaction pipelines, ensuring maximum throughput and value from initial negotiations to final close.
- Develop scalable systems and processes to support rapid business growth.
- Drive exponential expansion.
Requirements and Experience
- A leveraged finance banking background highly desirable.
- At least three years’ hands-on experience in buyside MBI/MBO or comparable M&A transactions, whether as a principal, adviser, or funder.
- Recognised accounting qualification.
- In-depth understanding of buyside concerns, including working capital calculations, surplus cash analysis, and due diligence procedures.
- Familiarity with debt providers (e.g., asset-based, cashflow, Private Credit etc) and their requirements e.g. covenant compliance; associated documentation.
- Expertise in commercial and legal aspects of transactions, such as SPAs, shareholder agreements, vendor loan notes, covenants, options, and funding documents etc.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Demonstrated commercial judgment, negotiation prowess, and problem-solving ability.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.
- Proven ability to deliver against tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with business owners.
- Confident networker, able to cultivate relationships with deal sources to generate acquisition opportunities.
- Innovative mindset for structuring deals and fund raising.
