A leading quantitative investment firm is building out the research platform that powers how its quantitative researchers develop, test and ultimately deploy new trading strategies. The engineering goal is to make that research loop faster, more accurate and more scalable: enabling researchers to run more experiments, backtest ideas faster and with greater confidence, and move successful strategies into production sooner.
You will work on the distributed systems, data and compute infrastructure behind that platform, solving large-scale engineering problems with a very direct connection between the systems you build and the firm's trading performance.
What Youβll Do
- Build distributed systems and infrastructure for large-scale quantitative research
- Increase the speed and scale of experimentation and backtesting
- Improve the accuracy, reliability and reproducibility of research workflows
- Build systems for processing and analysing large volumes of financial data
- Work directly with researchers to identify bottlenecks and engineer solutions
- Help reduce the time between a promising research idea and a live trading strategy
What Weβre Looking For
- Strong CS fundamentals and experience building production systems
- Strong Python, C++ or Java
- Experience with distributed systems, large-scale data or compute-intensive infrastructure
- An interest in difficult engineering problems where performance and correctness matter
