We are building one of the UK's leading integrated medical cannabis businesses, bringing together specialist clinics, pharmacy, manufacturing, importation, education and patient support under one group. Our ambition is to improve patient access to safe, regulated cannabis-based medicines through exceptional clinical care, operational excellence and innovation.
The Managing Director will be responsible for leading the business from launch through to national scale, ensuring sustainable growth while maintaining the highest standards of governance, regulatory compliance and patient care.
The Opportunity
This is an entrepreneurial leadership role for someone who wants to build a market-leading healthcare company. The Managing Director will own the commercial strategy, operational performance and growth of the business whilst working closely with the Board to execute the long-term vision. This individual will be expected to create a high-performing leadership team, establish strategic partnerships and position the company as a trusted leader within the UK medical cannabis sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the company's long-term growth strategy.
- Deliver annual business plans and budgets.
- Identify new commercial opportunities and revenue streams.
- Build relationships with investors, regulators and strategic partners.
- Present regular board reports including KPIs and growth plans.
- Lead mergers, acquisitions and strategic partnerships where appropriate.

- Lead the day-to-day operation across:
- Medical Cannabis Clinics
- Digital Health Platform

- Ensure operational efficiency and scalable infrastructure.
- Clinical Governance
- Working alongside the Clinical Director and Superintendent Pharmacist to ensure safe prescribing, excellent clinical outcomes, CQC compliance, GPhC compliance, MHRA compliance, Controlled Drugs Regulations, and Information Governance.
- Regulatory Leadership
- Ensure full compliance with CQC, GPhC, MHRA, Home Office Controlled Drugs Licensing, GDPR, and UK Healthcare Regulations.
- Develop a culture where quality and compliance are embedded throughout the organisation.
- Leadership & Culture
- Recruit, develop and inspire a high-performing executive team.
- Create a culture centred around clinical excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Lead performance management across all departments.
- Business Development
- Develop strategic relationships with consultants, specialists, manufacturers, NHS organisations, private hospitals, universities, research organisations, and industry bodies.
- Represent the company at conferences and industry events.
- Marketing & Brand
- Work closely with Marketing to build a trusted healthcare brand, increase patient awareness, develop educational content, grow referral networks, and maintain regulatory compliance within advertising guidelines.
Key Performance Indicators
The Managing Director will be measured on revenue growth, EBITDA performance, clinical quality metrics, CQC performance, regulatory compliance, referral growth, pharmacy revenue, strategic partnerships, and delivery of annual strategic objectives.
