Our client is the world’s largest food & beverage company, offering the successful applicant the opportunity to work across multiple categories, including Confectionery, Coffee, Petcare, Cereals, Waters, Food, and Nutrition.

About the Role

Title: Head of Business Unit (Category)

Reporting to: Business Unit Director

Salary: £58k – £65k (depending on experience) + up to 10% KPI related bonus and car allowance

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract: Fixed Term – 12 months (Maternity Cover)

Location: Home Based (travel required)

We are looking for a passionate and energetic individual with a key eye for detail and organisational skills to work as a Head of Business Unit (Category) within a wider team. You will drive strategic direction and actionable insights through field teams, maximising opportunities for our client within store, to become an action-driven, indispensable partner.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy:

  1. Work with your Category teams within our client to fully understand and align the Reach field strategy to theirs, being the linchpin between the categories, recommendations, initiatives, and deliverables for Reach.
  2. Own the relationship between Reach and your respective Category and become the Category expert within the business.
  3. Deliver short- and long-term Category Strategy through field and insight.

Performance:

  1. Work with key contacts within our client to create and deliver the content of the cycle plans to enable the field to deliver against them.
  2. Create, lead, and develop the content and insights for QBR meetings, leading the field category agenda and proposing new initiatives to test and learn.

Client Relationship Development:

  1. Build internal networks between Reach and your client, to become immersed in their business and identify opportunities for mutual growth.
  2. Build key multi-level relationships with relevant people within the client’s business.
  3. Align relevant internal & external individuals to plans and recommendations, clearly understanding the importance of the client structure and ways of working.
  4. Dedicate regular time at the client’s offices to work together on the ongoing results and strategy for the field where appropriate.

Insight and Evaluation:

  1. Drive the actionable insight and evaluation agenda within the client, client category management, and insights teams whilst working closely with the Reach Insight Analysts.
  2. Evaluate all available data (Market, Channel, Fascia, Brand, etc.) to provide relevant insights to drive the client’s performance.
  3. Provide ongoing actionable insights, anecdotal feedback, and recommendations based on reporting data and then present these in client review meetings.

What We’re Looking For

  1. Experience: Minimum one year in a similar role with strong relationships with mid / senior leadership.
  1. Skills:
    • Excellent communication, planning, organising, attention to detail, independent work, team collaboration, initiative, decision-making, and self-motivation.
    • Ability to read and interpret data is key.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
