Associate Director of Digital Transformation
Acorns Children’s Hospice — Hybrid working with base at Selly Oak, Walsall, or Worcester. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.
Base pay range: (information provided by Acorns Children’s Hospice). Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
About Acorns: At Acorns Children’s Hospice, we provide specialist palliative care for babies, children, and young people with life‑limiting or life‑threatening conditions, supporting families across the West Midlands.
About the Opportunity: We are seeking an exceptional Associate Director of Digital Transformation to lead the strategic and operational development of our digital resources and shape the future of Acorns’ digital landscape.
The Role
- Lead the design and delivery of Acorns’ digital strategy, aligning technology, people, and processes with our charitable purpose.
- Provide expert advice and strategic leadership across all digital, ICT, and data functions.
- Work as part of Acorns’ Strategic Delivery Group, ensuring digital transformation supports organisational goals.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement by horizon scanning for emerging digital opportunities.
- Lead complex programmes of work in collaboration with the PMO to deliver change on time, within scope and budget.
- Ensure that digital tools and systems for families, supporters, and colleagues are effective, user‑friendly, and integrated.
- Line‑manage the ICT and Data teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and excellence.
- Build digital capability across Acorns, supporting colleagues and volunteers to develop new skills and confidence.
- Manage budgets effectively and ensure best value through strong procurement and governance.
- Promote compliance with Acorns’ policies on data protection, diversity, health and safety, and safeguarding.
About You
- Proven experience in leading digital transformation and managing ICT and data functions.
- Strong track record of project and programme delivery.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to engage stakeholders at every level.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- A curious, innovative mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
- Alignment with Acorns’ vision and values, and a genuine passion for making a difference.
Experience in a charity or healthcare environment and engagement with trustee boards would be an advantage.
