We are looking for a skilled and reliable Building Services Fabric Engineer to join our team at Lakeside Shopping Centre. This is a key role supporting the day‑to‑day maintenance and upkeep of a high‑profile retail environment, ensuring the site remains safe, compliant, and presented to the highest standard.

Working as part of a wider engineering team, you will support the Contracts Manager in delivering exceptional service to our clients while contributing to the smooth operation of the centre.

Location: Lakeside Shopping Centre

Salary: up to £41200 depending on experience plus overtime and callout

Hours: 40 hours a week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fabric maintenance across the site
  • Perform general building fabric tasks including carpentry, painting, basic plumbing, patch repairs, and flooring
  • Support the wider engineering team with maintenance activities when required
  • Assist in ensuring the site meets all health, safety, and compliance requirements
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and client needs
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed through CAFM systems or job sheets
  • Identify and report defects, and recommend improvements where necessary
  • Support the Contracts Manager in delivering a high standard of service to the client

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a building services or fabric maintenance role
  • Good all‑round knowledge of building fabric repairs and maintenance
  • Experience working within commercial or retail environments preferred
  • Strong understanding of health and safety practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Flexible approach to work and willingness to support out‑of‑hours activities if required
  • Relevant qualifications in carpentry, joinery, or building maintenance
  • Experience working in a large, multi‑site or public‑facing environment
  • Familiarity with CAFM systems
