As a Health and Social Care Tutor, you will deliver high-quality, face-to-face learning programmes that prepare adult learners for careers in the adult social care sector. These programmes focus on equipping learners with sector-relevant knowledge, hands-on practical skills, and the confidence needed to start or advance in their careers in care. You will play a vital role in shaping learners’ experiences by developing their core competencies, raising aspirations, and supporting their progression into sustainable employment. Your professional insight, inclusive teaching style, and learner-centred approach will be key to their success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and practical learning sessions aligned with the adult care curriculum and industry standards.
- Deliver classroom-based training in key areas such as person-centred care, safeguarding, infection control, moving and handling, communication, and workplace behaviours.
- Assess learner knowledge and practical competence through observation, written work, and discussions, providing constructive feedback and setting goals for improvement.
- Adapt delivery to meet the needs of a diverse learner cohort, including those returning to learning or entering the care sector for the first time.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment that supports learner confidence and participation.
- Support learners in developing the behaviours, attitudes, and transferable skills valued by employers (e.g., professionalism, resilience, teamwork).
- Monitor learner attendance, progress and achievements, maintaining accurate and timely records in line with quality assurance standards.
- Guide learners toward employment, further training or qualifications, supporting their transition into or progression within the adult care sector.
- Collaborate with internal colleagues and external partners to maintain high-quality delivery and learner support.
- Keep up to date with developments in the adult care sector and relevant educational practices to ensure effective and current delivery.

Qualifications and Specific Training:
- Minimum Level 3 teaching, learning and assessment qualification, such as AET or PTLLS (essential).
- Level 3 or higher in Health and Social Care (essential).
- Level 3 CAVA or equivalent (essential).
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics (essential).
- Full Driving Licence (essential).
- Level 4 IQA or equivalent (desirable).
- L5 teaching qualification or willingness to work toward (desirable).
- First Aid at Work Certificate (desirable).
- IOSH Health and Safety Qualification (desirable).
Experience:
- Extensive hands-on experience and a strong track record in the Health and Social Care sector (essential).
- Experience in face-to-face delivery (essential).
- Experience of working with adults from diverse backgrounds (essential).
- Previous experience working as a health and social care tutor or in a similar training role (desirable).
- Experience in curriculum development and educational material creation (desirable).
Knowledge:
