We are currently looking for an experienced and driven Production Manager to join our team based at our factory in Steeton, West Yorkshire.
The Production Manager leads a multi-shift workforce of over 60 employees to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of a stairlift manufacturing facility. This role drives consistent, high-quality production across all shifts by developing teams, standardizing processes, and ensuring seamless handovers to maintain operational continuity.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm
Salary: £45,000

Key Responsibilities
- Production & Delivery Strategy: Execute the multi-shift production plan to meet customer demand for custom stairlifts, optimizing capacity, workflow, and labor utilisation.
- Team Leadership & Development: Oversee a 24-hour (3-shift) operation, coach Shift Supervisors, set clear performance standards, and ensure seamless shift handovers.
- Health, Safety & Quality Compliance: Champion a "safety-first" and "right first time" culture, ensuring strict adherence to HSE regulations and safety-critical product standards while actively reducing defects and rework.
- Performance & KPI Management: Track, report, and drive accountability across core operational KPIs, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), output, scrap, downtime, and absenteeism.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify process bottlenecks and lead targeted improvement initiatives to maximise throughput, minimise waste, and control manufacturing costs (labour and materials).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Supply Chain to ensure material availability, Quality to resolve warranty issues, and Maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
