Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join a globally recognised and fast-growing engineering company in Sparkford. Specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of incubation and HVAC systems for the poultry industry, this organisation has built a strong international reputation for delivering high-quality solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a hands‑on leadership role within a forward‑thinking business.
Key Duties
- Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the electrical workshop.
- Lead, motivate and support a team of 6‑8 electrical operatives.
- Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet shipping deadlines and ensure on‑time delivery.
- Monitor and manage stock levels of consumables and electrical components.
- Oversee labour planning, including supporting recruitment where required.
- Adapt to changing priorities and manage staffing levels, including overtime.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure all work meets required standards.
- Identify production issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Report on production progress, challenges and solutions to senior management.
- Monitor team performance, set targets and carry out appraisals.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including conducting safety inspections.
- Maintain accurate documentation, records and filing systems.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role within an electrical or manufacturing environment.
- HNC / HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (preferred).
- Strong practical electrical experience with proven leadership ability.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with control panel wiring or similar environments.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Good commercial awareness and understanding of productivity drivers.
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills.
