Acorn by Synergie are currently seeking an experienced Production Operative with FLT Counterbalance Licence and Telehandler Licence on behalf of their mineral-processing client, based in Runcorn. This role is at first temporary-ongoing, but may lead to a permanent position upon successful completion of a probation period. The role is very physical and involves some working outside.
This role is for the packaging of finished goods into 25Kg bags using a semi-automated packing machine and transporting bags onto pallets using a sack-lifter to reduce manual handling. Wrapping finished pallets using an automated pallet wrapper. Moving finished goods into storage bays.
The operative's role is to operate the facility in a safe manner in accordance with all legislation and company sustainability (Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Environment) and Quality policies and procedures. To achieve targets in a safe manner set out by supervisor. The role will also require the operative to load or assist in the loading of collection vehicles as and when required. This will include assisting both operation of the loading equipment and administrative duties, required for loading vehicles, such as undertaking driver inductions.
Other duties include:
- Manual Handling up to 25 kilo
- Machine Operating
- Working as part of a team to ensure the product is dispatched on time
- Liaising with drivers coming into site
- Quality Inspection of finished product
- Other production duties as directed
Our client requires someone who is a relationship builder with excellent communication skills, and a positive, can-do attitude. Previous production experience is required, although full training is given on-site.

- Computer literate (Excel spreadsheets).
- FLT trained
- An RTITB or ITSSAR accredited FLT Counterbalance licence refreshed within the last three years is desirable for the role
- A Telehandler licence is also essential for the position

Hours of work: 4 on 4 off basis 2 x 12 hour days, 2 x 12 hour nights
Pay rate: £17.32 per hour
Overtime: Payable at enhanced rates
There may be the requirement to work shifts 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm and 10pm-6am or even a day shift 8am-4.30pm to cover holidays, sickness etc. There is an immediate start available so please apply straight away!
