We are currently seeking a Building Services Engineer to join our team, carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) across our sites across North London, Hertfordshire and Essex and the surrounding urban areas. You will carry out planned preventative maintenance, servicing and reactive repairs across a varied portfolio of client sites, working independently but supported by a dedicated helpdesk and contract management team.

To meet the operational demands of the business candidates would ideally live within the above areas but not is a requirement. You will be backed by a dedicated internal helpdesk, administration team, and experienced contract managers who understand the realities of working on site and are committed to helping you succeed.

Location: N London, Hertfordshire and East/Essex (Enfield, Waltham Cross, Cheshunt, Loughton)

Salary: up to £44,000 depending on experience plus overtime and callout

Hours: 41.25 hours a week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out PPM, servicing and reactive maintenance across multiple sites
  • Respond to call‐outs during normal working hours and participate in an out‐of‐hours emergency rota
  • Communicate clearly with clients, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Liaise with the internal helpdesk and administration teams
  • Maintain accurate job reports, log books and documentation
  • Keep Contracts Managers informed of job progress and site issues
  • Attend sites punctually, presented professionally and wearing appropriate PPE

What we are looking for:

  • Strong knowledge of M&E building services
  • Experience with HVAC plant including air conditioning, boilers, controls, heating and ventilation systems
  • Good working knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Qualifications & Experience:
  • City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Time‐served mechanical or maintenance engineer (apprenticeship preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Full UK driving licence

  • Self‐motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Confident in diagnosing faults and making informed repair decisions

Location Requirement: To support business needs, applicants must reside within the areas of North London / Hertfordshire / East Essex areas (e.g. Enfield, Waltham Cross, Cheshunt, Loughton)
