Acorn by Synergie are searching for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client, a well-established manufacturing business based in Knowsley, Liverpool, on a permanent night shift basis. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role supports the efficient operation of the factory by delivering effective electrical and mechanical maintenance, ensuring plant reliability and consistent achievement of business targets in line with the planned maintenance programme.
Key Duties
- Carry out routine physical and visual inspections of site machinery.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks as issued by the Engineering Manager.
- Respond promptly to machine breakdowns, diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults.
- Complete repairs, upgrades, and new equipment installations across the site.
- Minimise equipment downtime through effective fault-finding and proactive maintenance.
- Conduct system checks to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Carry out all duties safely, in full compliance with company Health & Safety and Hygiene policies.
- Work closely with subcontractors, ensuring permits, risk assessments, and method statements are in place and followed.
- Liaise with site supervisors and senior management in the absence of the Engineering Manager.
- Provide accurate information and regular progress updates to management as required.
Requirements
- Time-served Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with strong 50/50 mechanical and electrical skill set.
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship and ONC qualification or higher.
- Solid understanding of electrical regulations, including 17th or 18th Edition certification.
- Proven PLC fault-finding and diagnostic experience.
- Hands‐on experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and steam boilers in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
