Overview

This role operates within established systems and procedures to manage the traffic planning team and driver operations, ensuring compliance, cost efficiency and service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the planning team and daily transport and logistics activities.
  • Must have previous transport planning management experience.
  • Delivering effective route planning and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation for Operator's Licences and Driver's Working Time Directive.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage, lead and develop drivers, transport planners and the Driver Fleet Coordinator.
  • Ability to meet budgeted operational targets.
  • Ability to support commercial growth through cost control.
  • Ability to monitor and improve fleet utilisation.
  • Participation in group compliance meetings.
  • Implementing and managing Health and Safety procedures.
  • Working with the GM on annual budget planning.
  • Contributing to Weekly Flash Report Meetings.
  • Supporting ISO 9001 and 14001 requirements.
  • Ability to manage customer satisfaction and contracted SLA's.
  • Working with HR on recruitment, training and processes.
  • Working with the Fleet Manager on maintenance schedules and incident reporting.
  • Leading and attending weekly planning meetings.
  • Supporting ongoing improvement and performance control.
  • Managing changing priorities to maintain efficiency, productivity and fleet profitability.
  • Reporting weekly and monthly operational highlights to the GM.
