A rare opportunity to relaunch, lead and grow one of our most exciting pubs. The Akeman Inn is about to begin an exciting new chapter as part of a major investment programme across the Acorn Pubs estate. The Akeman Inn will undergo a significant refurbishment and relaunch, emerging almost as a brand-new pub. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious and entrepreneurial General Manager to take the lead from the very beginning and help shape the future success of this beautiful business.

Acorn Pubs is part of Brunning & Price, one of the UK's most respected pub operators, renowned for creating exceptional pubs with character, quality food and drink, and outstanding hospitality. The Akeman Inn enjoys a fantastic location, a stunning setting, and enormous untapped potential. With substantial investment being made in the site, we're looking for a General Manager who can see the possibilities, build a high-performing team, and establish the pub as a destination venue from day one of the relaunch. This isn't simply a role managing an existing operation—it's an opportunity to create something special.

About you...

We’re looking for a warm and charismatic manager to lead a friendly, ambitious team and drive this busy pub forwards. You’ll enjoy a high degree of independence with the freedom to be creative and run the pub as if it were truly your own. You’ll be interested in and knowledgeable about food and drink with a genuine passion for beer and wine. Commercially and financially astute, you’re at your happiest looking after customers whilst training, inspiring and developing your team. As a proven general manager from a premium, food-led background, you’ve previously built a successful business with a good local reputation and will thrive in a place where you have the freedom to do exactly that.
