About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Technical Manager to oversee all aspects of technical delivery across our new build housing developments. Working closely with the Engineering Manager and other departments, this role will be instrumental in ensuring the successful design, coordination and execution of residential projects across our Bristol, Exeter and Cornwall offices.
Key Responsibilities
- To work within the technical function of the business, working on residential projects for our Bristol, Exeter and Cornwall offices.
- Reporting to Regional Senior Management Team, specifically the Head of Technical.
- Manage the design process for design and build contracts, and traditional contracts.
- Act as the primary contact for the design teams, supply chain partners and project stakeholders (internal and external).
- Facilitate design workshops to develop the project in a cost-effective manner whilst retaining design intent.
- Manage compliance checks against specification, budget and client requirements.
- Advise on cost effectiveness of alternative methods of construction.
- Co-ordinate the design information supplied to/from our construction division – including the project supply chain.
- Manage design output to agreed programmes.
- Liaise with Local Authorities, Statutory Authorities, Building Control, Building Warranty Providers and Planning Departments.
- Liaise with Utility Providers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in a similar technical management role within residential development.
- Strong understanding of UK building regulations, construction processes and technical compliance.
- Proven ability to manage design teams and external consultants.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary (TBC).
- Office base in either Bristol or Exeter.
- Standard working hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
- 20 days annual leave plus one additional day for charitable activities.
