We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Technical Team. This position will play a key role in managing engineering design activities to support the delivery of high-quality residential and mixed-use developments. The role will oversee the work of internal and external engineers, service applications, and associated agreements to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effective daily management of the ‘Engineering Design Team’ (Internal and External) to ensure the provision of required level of services in a pro-active and professional manner to enable other departments to fulfil their role.
  • Responsible for delivery of (working with appointed Consulting Engineers):
  • Cut/Fill – Earthworks design solution
  • Levels design solution
  • Foundation design solution
  • Road design (incl S278 and S.38 Agreements)
  • Retaining Wall design solution
  • Services quotations, design co-ordination thereof and appointments / legal agreements
  • Production of engineering site feasibilities as instructed by the land department, with liaison with heads of department & outside authorities and agencies to ensure compliance
  • Assessment of potential developments and production of detailed technical reports, including site visits with the appropriate members of the management team to ensure the best cost engineered solution is produced for the land, commercial and technical departments.

  • Office base in either Bristol or Exeter
  • Standard working hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
  • 20 days annual leave plus one additional day for charitable activities
