We are currently looking for an experienced and driven Production Manager to join our team based at our factory in Shipley, West Yorkshire.
The Production Manager leads a multi-shift workforce of over 40 employees to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of a stairlift manufacturing facility. This role drives consistent, high-quality production across all shifts by developing teams, standardising processes, and ensuring seamless handovers to maintain operational continuity.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience managing production in a manufacturing environment
- Experience leading multi-shift teams
- Background in manufacturing production
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
- Excellent organisational and planning skills in a high-volume environment
- Ability to manage complexity across multiple shifts
- Strong communication, especially for cross-shift alignment
Key Responsibilities:
- Production & Delivery Strategy: Execute the multi-shift production plan to meet customer demand for custom stairlifts, optimising capacity, workflow, and labour utilisation.
- Team Leadership & Development: Oversee a 24-hour (3-shift) operation, coaching shift supervisors, setting clear performance standards and ensuring seamless shift handovers.
- Health, Safety & Quality Compliance: Champion a “safety-first” and “right first time” culture, ensuring strict adherence to HSE regulations and safety-critical product standards while actively reducing defects and rework.
- Performance & KPI Management: Track, report and drive accountability across core operational KPIs, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), output, scrap, downtime and absenteeism.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify process bottlenecks and lead targeted improvement initiatives to maximise throughput, minimise waste and control manufacturing costs (labour and materials).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with supply chain to ensure material availability, quality to resolve warranty issues and maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
