We are recruiting a reliable and experienced Van Mobile Engineer to support contracts across Oxford and the Midlands. Due to the geographical spread of our client sites and operational response requirements, it is critical that candidates live within easy reach of the M40, allowing efficient travel across Oxfordshire and the wider Midlands region.

You will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance and reactive works across a varied estate, operating independently while being fully supported by our internal helpdesk and contract management teams. You will be backed by a dedicated internal helpdesk, administration team, and experienced contract managers who understand the realities of working on site and are committed to helping you succeed.

Location: Oxfordshire and Midlands

Salary: up to £44000 depending on experience plus overtime and callout

Hours: 41.25 hours a week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out PPM, servicing and reactive maintenance across multiple sites
  • Respond to call-outs during normal working hours and participate in an out-of-hours emergency rota
  • Communicate clearly with clients, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Liaise with the internal helpdesk and administration teams
  • Maintain accurate job reports, log books and documentation
  • Keep Contracts Managers informed of job progress and site issues
  • Attend sites punctually, presented professionally and wearing appropriate PPE

What we are looking for:

  • Strong knowledge of M&E building services
  • Experience with HVAC plant including air conditioning, boilers, controls, heating and ventilation systems
  • Good working knowledge of health and safety regulations

Qualifications & Experience:

  • City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Time-served mechanical or maintenance engineer (apprenticeship preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Full UK driving licence

Personal Skills:

  • Excellent communication and time management
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Confident in diagnosing faults and making informed repair decisions

Additional Requirement: This role requires engineers to be based within easy access of the M40 to support efficient travel between Oxfordshire and Midlands‑based sites.
