Working hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm, 37.5 hours per week

Location: Liverpool/Hybrid

Salary: £24,255 to £28,000 plus an up to £1,500 performance related bonus per annum, paid quarterly once established within your role. Opportunity to progress to Senior Handler with increased salary and bonus.

Acorn Insurance are looking for Property Damage Claims Handlers to join our expanding Claims Team. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a busy and thriving department and join us on our journey to be market leaders. Experience dealing with Defendant Third Party Insurance Claims is preferred. The successful candidate will effectively manage a portfolio of motor Insurance claims with a combined value of more than £1 million.

As a Property Damage Claims Handler, you will be provided with continuous development to help you build your technical and commercial decision-making skills, to ensure indemnity spend is minimised on road traffic collision claims.

What you will be doing:

  • Validate all motor claims for indemnity and fraud
  • Proactive and correct assessment of liability following investigations of a road traffic collision
  • Accurate quantum assessment of third-party vehicle damages presented using the relevant tools available to assist and further losses relating to motor insurance claims.
  • Application of accurate reserves in line with company guidelines
  • Adherence to best practice and key strategies
  • Effective file and portfolio management
  • Any other Ad hoc task as the needs of the business dictate
  • Accountability for own performance against set objectives

What we're looking for:

  • Experience dealing with Motor Claims, ideally from Property Damage
  • Ability to work in a culture of openness, trust, and respect
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Ability to fact find and analyse information to result in accurate decision making
  • Knowledge of the civil procedure rules with regards to offers, acceptances and litigation risks
