We are currently seeking a Plant & Fleet Mechanic to join our team at our headquarters in Sherburn-in-Elmet. This is a hands-on role responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of our fleet of plant equipment and commercial vehicles, helping to ensure they remain safe, compliant, and operational throughout our busy events season.
Our fleet includes forklifts, Moffett trucks, reach trucks, roto telehandlers, trailers, commercial vehicles, and various items of small plant equipment. This position would suit an experienced plant, forklift, HGV, agricultural, or vehicle mechanic looking for a varied role within a fast-paced business.
As Plant & Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out planned maintenance, inspections, fault diagnosis, and repairs across the company's fleet and plant equipment.
- Carrying out routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and repairs on company plant and fleet vehicles.
- Completing daily, weekly, and monthly inspections and safety checks.
- Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and operational faults.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records, service schedules, and inspection documentation.
- Preparing equipment for LOLER inspections, servicing, and external audits where required.
- Supporting vehicle and plant compliance requirements.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in plant, forklift, agricultural, HGV, commercial vehicle, or automotive maintenance.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience working on forklifts, Moffett trucks, telehandlers, or other materials-handling equipment.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Relevant mechanical or engineering qualifications.
- Forklift operator licence.
- HGV licence.
- Experience with LOLER or PUWER inspection requirements.
- Additional language skills.
