Responsibilities
- Undertake planned preventative maintenance, servicing, and repair works across various contracts.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to maintain strong relationships and ensure smooth operations.
- Liaise with internal helpdesk and administration teams to create a collaborative support function.
- Attend call-outs during normal working hours and participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.
- Organize work and time efficiently while working supportively within a team.
- Ensure punctual site attendance, maintain a professional appearance, and wear appropriate PPE.
- Complete and submit clear, concise, and accurate reports for works carried out and any further work required.
- Maintain regular communication with Contracts Managers regarding job progress.
- Provide necessary updates to clients as required.
- Review and maintain all logbooks or relevant documents for task completion.
What We Are Looking For
- Technical Expertise: Solid knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services, including HVAC systems (A/C, boilers, heating and cooling systems, ventilation) and an understanding of Legionella compliance.
- Qualifications: City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with time-served experience as a mechanical/maintenance engineer (apprenticeship preferred).
- IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) for reporting and communication.
- Personal Attributes: Valid UK driving licence. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent time management and organisational abilities. Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team. Ability to assess breakdowns and make calculated decisions under pressure.
