At Acorn, we’ve built a trusted name over 40 years, delivering market-leading mechanical, electrical, and fabric services across hundreds of sites in London and the South East. We’re growing – and looking for a reliable and proactive Foot Mobile Engineer to join our team in Central London. This is a walking mobile role, ideal for someone confident navigating the city via public transport. You’ll carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of client sites, representing Acorn with professionalism and technical expertise. You’ll be self‑motivated, organised, and have a hands‑on attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Hours: 41.5 hours per week

Responsibilities
- Perform PPM, servicing, and reactive repair works across various commercial contracts.
- Attend site callouts during working hours and as part of the out‑of‑hours rota.
- Communicate clearly and regularly with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting, including job updates and logbooks.
- Work collaboratively with Acorn's Helpdesk and Contracts Managers to ensure high service standards.
- Present yourself professionally on site with full PPE and relevant attire.
Skills & Qualifications Required
Knowledge & Understanding
- Strong understanding of M&E building services and HVAC systems.
- Familiarity with A/C units, boilers, heating/cooling systems, and ventilation.
- Awareness of Legionella compliance and general Health & Safety practices.
Personal Qualities/Skills
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
- Capable of working independently and taking initiative.
- Positive, proactive team player.
Qualifications
- City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Time‑served/apprenticeship-trained mechanical/maintenance engineer.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
