The Pewsey Vale School is looking for a motivated and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its Curriculum Support Team on a part-time, permanent basis and provide support to young people across all age ranges and abilities, with effect from September 2026.
Working Hours: Part Time (27.5 hours per week, Monday- Friday, 38 weeks per year, no Teacher Training days).
Pewsey Vale is a small but thriving co-educational school, educating young people between the ages of 11 and 16 years. Located in the village of Pewsey, our school community works together to ensure that all students are supported to reach their full potential in both their academic and personal development. As a school, we provide a supportive and challenging learning environment where every student is recognised as an individual and empowered to succeed. We believe in teaching that engages students and challenges them to exceed expectation and take risks so they can be resilient, creative and successful individuals. In December 2024 we joined Acorn Education Trust, which provides exciting opportunities to improve local education and draw on collective experience.
The successful candidate will be able to work flexibly to support all students, including those requiring SEN support, liaising with teachers and SENCO. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is committed to empowering all young people to succeed.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has at least grade C in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent;
- Has a passion for delivering high quality and exciting opportunities for young people and supporting them in their development;
- Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and is able to work with a variety of pupils, staff and parents;
- Is self-motivated, dedicated and consistent;
- Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;
- Is a strong team player, good at building relationships;
- Has a confident, resilient and flexible attitude;
- Is organised and enthusiastic;
- Has experience of supporting children’s learning;
- Understands and is sympathetic to the needs of young people, including their social and emotional wellbeing;
- Has a current First Aid or is prepared to undertake training.
