Wansdyke School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, personable and organised Administrative Assistant to support our school on a part-time basis and help to ensure the smooth running of our day-to-day operations, starting in September 2025.

Working Hours: Part-time (27.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year, includes Teacher training days). Please note: Wednesday hours will be 8.30am to 12.00pm. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday hours will be 8.30am – 3.30pm, which includes 1 hour for lunch – unpaid.

We are a vibrant non-denominational single form entry primary school, educating children between the ages of 4 and 11. Located in the market town of Devizes, Wiltshire, we are proud to have very incredible children, who show exceptional behaviour and attitude to learning. We have a supportive parent body and a 28 place Complex Needs Resource Base, which supports children with additional needs from across the county. Our passionate staff are committed to raising standards and achieving excellence and, in 2021, we retained our ‘Good’ Ofsted rating and were praised for providing a purposeful and engaging curriculum, which allows pupils to flourish personally and academically. As the initial point of contact for parents, visitors and other stakeholders, you will act as an ambassador for our school and be responsible for supporting with administrative and organisational processes within our setting.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is well presented and articulate, with good communication skills;
  • Has strong interpersonal skills and is able to work with a variety of pupils, staff and parents;
  • Has superb attention to detail and organisational skills;
  • Is self-motivated dedicated and consistent;
  • Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;
  • Is a strong team player, who can use their own initiative;
  • Has a positive and flexible attitude;
  • Has experience of working in an office environment (advantageous);
  • Has sound ICT skills, including fast and accurate keyboard skills.
