Overview
Electrical Engineer – Yeovil, Somerset
£72 per hour - Depending on experience. Monday - Friday, (some flexibility)
Introduction: Acorn by Synergie is working in partnership with Honeywell in Yeovil, Somerset and have opportunities for an Electrical Engineer to work on a full-time basis starting as soon as possible.
Key Duties
- Support end to end electronics design lifecycle, from concept and requirements through production and in service support.
- Define and document electronics requirements, design plans, and specifications.
- Design analogue and digital circuits, progressing concepts through to complete PCB layouts and full manufacturing drawing packs.
- Produce all supporting design, verification, and test documentation required for certification and manufacturing.
- Participate in and contribute to design reviews, clearly communicating technical content to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant quality processes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with internal manufacturing teams and external suppliers to ensure smooth new product introduction, including PCB build, assembly, test, and system integration.
- Provide expert technical support for manufacturing issues and in service investigations across the product range.
Qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of electronics design experience within aerospace or another highly regulated sector (e.g., nuclear, rail).
- Strong understanding of electronics design principles and industry best practices.
- Proficient in low power digital circuit design.
- Solid understanding of low frequency analogue interface design.
- Experience using industry standard ECAD tools (Mentor Graphics preferred).
- Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacture) and DFT (Design for Test) methodologies.
- Familiarity with EMC design and qualification requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail.
What We Offer
- Competitive pay rate of £72 per hour - Depending on experience.
- Standard core hours: 09:00-16:00 Monday-Thursday, 09:00-12:00 on Friday, with some flexibility.
