Acorn by Synergie is recruiting experienced and certified TTP or ICATS Blasters and Sprayers for a major, long-term industrial project in Newport. This is a hands-on and physically demanding opportunity working on a large project in Newport. Local candidates based in Newport are strongly preferred. Multi-skilled candidates with relevant experience will be considered for the higher Key Applicator rate. The project is expected to run from ASAP until at least January/February 2027.

What We Offer

  • ASAP start.
  • Long-term project running until at least January/February 2027.
  • Monday to Friday, 5 x 10-hour shifts.
  • 40 hours basic pay plus 10 hours weekday overtime guaranteed per week.
  • Weekend overtime may also be available.
  • Competitive hourly rates depending on skill set and certification.
  • Higher Key Applicator rate available for multi-skilled personnel.
  • Opportunity to work on a major large-scale industrial infrastructure project.

Pay Rates & Shift Pattern

  • Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday. 5 x 10-hour shifts. 40 hours basic per week. 10 hours weekday overtime guaranteed per week. Saturday overtime (OT1) and Sunday overtime (OT2) may also be available.
  • Key Applicator (Multi-Skilled): £17.50 per hour Basic. £26.25 per hour OT1. £35.00 per hour OT2.
  • Sprayer: £16.00 per hour Basic. £24.00 per hour OT1. £32.00 per hour OT2.
  • Blaster: £15.00 per hour Basic. £22.50 per hour OT1. £30.00 per hour OT2.
  • Painter: £14.00 per hour Basic. £21.00 per hour OT1. £28.00 per hour OT2.

For non-local workers, a lodge allowance of £45 per night or up to two hours travel time per day at basic rate is payable.

Key Duties

  • Carry out surface preparation using industrial blasting techniques.
  • Apply protective coatings using specialist spraying equipment.
  • Complete blasting, spraying and painting work to precise project specifications.
  • Maintain consistently high standards of workmanship and quality.
  • Follow all site health, safety and environmental procedures.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Complete physically demanding, hands-on industrial work safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Valid TTP or ICATS certification is essential.
  • Proven experience in industrial blasting, coating and/or spraying.
  • Experience within oil and gas, energy, infrastructure or heavy industrial environments is highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of site health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong communication and time-management skills.
  • Physically fit and comfortable carrying out hands-on industrial work.
  • Multi-skilled experience is advantageous for the higher Key Applicator rate.
  • Local candidates based in Newport are strongly preferred.
