Our client is a well-established engineering and manufacturing company supplying specialised equipment to the converting and print industries worldwide. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their Supply Chain team based in Taunton.

This role will be pivotal in improving supplier performance, validating new suppliers, and supporting purchasing and wider supply chain activities.

Key Duties

  • Conduct supplier audits, including on-site visits.
  • Validate and approve new suppliers.
  • Process purchase orders via the ERP system.
  • Manage, investigate, and close supplier non-conformances.
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers.
  • Expedite supplier deliveries to meet production requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers and logistics providers to achieve best cost and service levels.

Requirements

  • HNC or equivalent qualification in a technical or engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years' hands-on ERP experience, with strong knowledge of materials management, warehousing, and planning.
  • Proven experience using supplier scorecards and vendor management techniques.
  • At least 3 years' experience in continuous improvement activities.
  • Strong IT and computer literacy.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment (desirable).
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt qualification (desirable).
  • Internal Auditor certification (desirable).
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
