- Senior Product Designer / Retail Designer to join a growing design team based near
Swindon, Wiltshire .
You'll be responsible for developing practical, cost-effective product designs from initial briefs through to detailed manufacturing drawings and prototypes, working closely with clients, suppliers, contractors and internal project teams.
International travel is required , so applicants must hold a valid passport and full UK driving licence.

- Key Duties
- Produce accurate
2D and 3D technical drawings in line with project requirements.
- Create detailed manufacturing drawings suitable for contractors, suppliers and manufacturers.
- Develop practical and cost-effective product designs from initial client briefs.
- Produce complete technical drawing packages covering all relevant design requirements.
- Use
Autodesk Inventor, Auto CAD and/or Solid Works to develop detailed product designs.
- Manage prototypes from initial concept through to production.
- Liaise with buying and project management teams throughout the design process.
- Develop client briefs, confirm requirements and communicate design proposals effectively.
- Represent the company professionally when dealing with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Maintain drawing registers, issue sheets, CAD files and associated documentation.
- Ensure CAD files and design documentation are accurately maintained and organised.
- Ensure equipment and product designs comply with relevant
Health & Safety requirements, CDM regulations and British Standards .
- Report regularly to the Design Studio Manager regarding workload, priorities and project progress.
- Support other designers and internal teams with design, printing and file management requirements.
Requirements
- Product Design qualification or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience within product design, retail design or a similar technical design environment .
- Strong experience with
Autodesk Inventor .
- Experience using
Auto CAD 2D/3D and/or Solid Works .
- Ability to produce and interpret detailed technical manufacturing drawings .
- Good understanding of manufacturing techniques, materials and production processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet agreed deadlines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with clients, suppliers or manufacturers is advantageous.
Full UK driving licence and valid passport essential due to international travel requirements.
