Acorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking manufacturing business for an experienced Quality Inspector to join their Development and Laboratory team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring products, processes and people consistently meet the highest quality and compliance standards while supporting a culture of operational excellence. You'll be the first line of defence against defects, helping to prevent non-conforming products from progressing through the manufacturing process and ensuring compliance with quality systems, customer requirements and health & safety standards.
Key Duties
- Carry out in-process inspections and audits across manufacturing operations.
- Verify that operators are completing quality checks, documentation and traceability records correctly.
- Ensure inspection equipment, gauges, fixtures and checking tools are correctly maintained and calibrated.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet visual, dimensional and functional requirements.
- Monitor packaging, labelling and traceability processes to ensure customer specifications are met.
- Identify and report non-conformances and support containment activities.
- Promote and monitor safe working practices across the shop floor.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality and process issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, audits and standardisation projects.
- Provide support during customer containment and sorting activities when required.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience within a quality inspection, quality control or production auditing role.
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment such as Automotive, Aerospace, Food & Beverage or similar.
- Experience using inspection and measurement equipment.
- Understanding of quality documentation, traceability and non-conformance processes.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
Desirable Requirements
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 quality systems.
- Experience with SPC, Control Plans, PFMEA, APQP or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Engineering or Manufacturing qualification (NVQ, BTEC or equivalent).
- Experience supporting customer containment or sorting activities.
