Acorn by Synergie are searching for a Projects Process Engineer to join our client, a highly regulated manufacturer based in Widnes on a 6 month full time contract. Reporting to the Process Engineering and Projects Manager, the purpose of the role is to ensure that the process systems are efficient, safe, cost effective and meet the projects technical and regulatory requirements from concept through to commissioning and hand over.

Duties will include:

  • Define the process scope of projects to ensure business objectives are met and ensure stakeholders are aligned.
  • Develop process engineering deliverables to support the project such as heat and mass balance, P&IDs, pressure drop calculations, process data sheets & equipment sizing.
  • Develop process control philosophies and user requirement specifications to meet project objectives.
  • Develop process data sheets for the procurement of equipment.
  • Lead the technical bid analysis considering proposals from various vendors.
  • Identify and mitigate process safety hazards complying with regulations and considering industry best practice.
  • Develop process commissioning plans and operator training procedures.

It is essential that the successful candidate holds a Chemical degree or related engineering discipline and has significant experience and knowledge of developing the process engineer design for capital projects involving the installation of new process plant equipment.
