Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting an experienced Senior Groundworker / Ganger on behalf of a well-established subcontractor. This role is ideal for someone with extensive hands-on experience in civil engineering and groundworks, capable of delivering high-quality work with minimal supervision. Due to the varied nature of projects, no two days are the same, and flexibility is essential to support overall service delivery.

Key Duties

  • Carry out a full range of groundworks and civil engineering tasks.
  • Install drainage systems including deep drainage, foul, and storm systems.
  • Complete foundations, footings, and concrete works.
  • Undertake road formation, kerbing, edging, and ducting.
  • Read and interpret site drawings and levels accurately.
  • Operate plant machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all work complies with site specifications and health & safety standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in groundworks and civil engineering.
  • Strong understanding of site drawings, levels, and specifications.
  • Ability to work independently and lead by example on site.
  • High attention to detail and quality of workmanship.
  • CPCS or NPORS plant tickets with competency operating machinery such as diggers, dumpers, and rollers.
  • CCNSG Safety Passport.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
