Introduction
Acorn by Synergie is recruiting experienced Oxy Propane Burners to join a well-established demolition contractor working on a long-term project in Port Talbot.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Oxy Fuel Cutters, Burning Operatives, or Demolition Operatives looking for long-term work with overtime opportunities.
Key Duties
- Carry out oxy-propane cutting of scrap metal safely and efficiently.
- Cut and process steel and other metals in line with project requirements.
- Operate oxy-propane cutting equipment in accordance with site procedures.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and safe systems of work.
- Maintain equipment and report any defects or safety concerns.
- Support the demolition team with general site duties when required.
Requirements
- Proven experience cutting scrap metal using an oxy‑propane torch.
- Oxy-Propane Cutting Certificate, NVQ Level 2 Welding, or equivalent qualification (required for CIS payment).
- Valid CCNSG Safety Passport (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience within demolition, scrap, recycling, or heavy industrial environments.
- Good level of physical fitness due to the manual nature of the role.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Reliable with a strong commitment to health and safety.
