Major Industrial CAPEX Programme | Civil & Structural Construction Projects
Introduction
Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Civil & Structural Project Manager to lead the safe, successful and timely delivery of Civil & Structural (C&S) works within a major industrial CAPEX programme.
The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with UK construction legislation, project governance requirements, budget commitments, programme milestones and quality standards.
You will manage the end-to-end execution of large-scale civil and structural construction works, coordinating multiple contractors, designers, construction management partners and internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
This position requires strong leadership of a multidisciplinary project team, alongside proactive management of safety, delivery risk, interfaces and contractor performance within a live industrial environment.

Experience
- Experience delivering major UK civil and structural construction projects, with projects exceeding £100m CAPEX preferred.
- Experience delivering large-scale industrial, infrastructure, steel, energy, manufacturing or process industry projects.
- Significant experience managing EPC, EPCM, construction management and principal contractor delivery models.
- Experience working within live operational and brownfield environments.
- Strong understanding of design coordination, construction sequencing and commissioning interfaces.
- Demonstrated experience managing contractor claims, change control and commercial risk.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of UK construction legislation and construction management principles, including:
- CDM Regulations 2015.
- Health & Safety at Work Act.
- Construction and engineering contract management principles.
- Quality management systems.NEC contract environment preferred.
Skills
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong planning, scheduling and project controls understanding.
- Excellent risk management and problem-solving capability.
- Advanced communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and contractor management teams.
- Strong commercial and contract management awareness.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
Professional Institution:
- Chartered Engineer or Chartered Project Manager.
Vocational:
- 10+ years' experience in senior project management roles delivering major civil and structural construction projects.
Experience within steel, heavy industrial, energy, utilities, petrochemical or large infrastructure sectors is highly desirable.
