Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for an experienced Seamster / Seamstress to join a busy manufacturing team in Estover, Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Seamster, Seamstress, Sewing Machinist, Industrial Sewing Operative, Garment Machinist, Textile Operative, or Upholstery Sewing Machinist looking for a long-term role within a well-established manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will produce and alter garments to a high standard while meeting customer specifications, quality standards, and production deadlines.
Key Duties
- Sew and alter garments to customer specifications and quality standards.
- Repair minor tears and damaged garments.
- Interpret patterns and select appropriate fabrics.
- Measure, cut, and stitch fabric into finished products.
- Operate industrial sewing machines safely and efficiently.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Meet daily production targets and customer deadlines.
- Ensure work areas are kept clean, organised, and safe.
Requirements
- Recent experience working as a Seamster, Seamstress, Sewing Machinist, Garment Machinist, Textile Operative, or similar sewing role.
- Experience using industrial sewing machines within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Experience working to production targets and deadlines.
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Own transport is preferred.
