Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for an experienced Forklift Warehouse Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Newton Abbot. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Operative, Counterbalance Forklift Driver, FLT Driver or Warehouse & Logistics Operative to join a busy warehouse team. Working across multiple warehouse facilities, you'll play a key role in goods in, goods out, stock control, material handling and warehouse logistics, ensuring production is supplied efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy and organisation.
Key Duties
- Operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck to load, unload and transport materials safely across multiple on-site warehouse buildings.
- Move, stack and store stock and wooden pallets in line with warehouse procedures.
- Supply materials efficiently to production and other departments.
- Complete daily forklift and equipment checks, reporting any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Accurately record stock movements using the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Carry out stock checks, inventory counts and assist with resolving stock discrepancies.
- Ensure stock is stored, handled and transported safely and securely.
- Support the site's waste and recycling operations in line with environmental procedures.
- Maintain high standards of warehouse housekeeping and site presentation.
- Assist production, maintenance and other departments with operational tasks when required.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
Requirements
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Previous experience as a Warehouse Operative, Counterbalance Forklift Driver, FLT Driver, Forklift Truck Driver, Warehouse Assistant or Logistics Operative.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or computerised stock control systems.
- Good attention to detail with accurate record-keeping skills.
- Physically fit and comfortable lifting items up to approximately 20kg.
- Positive, flexible attitude with the ability to work across different departments.
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety and safe working practices.
Desirable:
- Reach Truck or Narrow Aisle Forklift Licence.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Van driving experience.
