Acorn by Synergie is pleased to be supporting Two Rivers Housing with the recruitment of two new Non‑Executive Directors and one Committee Member.

Two Rivers Housing is a community‑based social housing provider with deep roots in the Forest of Dean.

Managing around 4,700 homes across Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas, the organisation provides affordable and social rented homes, Shared Ownership properties, and supported living services for elderly and vulnerable people.

The organisation has recently achieved G1/V1/C1 regulatory ratings and continues to deliver against its ambitious objectives, including its commitment to building 1,000 new homes by 2028.

The Board is now seeking talented individuals who can help shape the next phase of the organisation's journey.

Board Member Focus

For the Board Member positions, the organisation is particularly interested in individuals with expertise in:

  • Social Housing Finance, including refinancing
  • Customer‑focused leadership linked to technology and data

Expectations

As a member of the Board or Committee, you'll be expected to

  • Contribute to the strategic direction of Two Rivers Housing and help monitor organisational performance.
  • Provide constructive support and challenge to the executive team.
  • Ensure effective governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Promote tenant and customer involvement in decision making.
  • Support the organisation's commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Act in the best interests of Two Rivers Housing and the communities it serves.
  • Attend meetings regularly and actively contribute to discussions and decision making.
  • Act as an ambassador for the organisation and its values.

  • Key Details

Term: Three‑year appointment with the option to extend for a further three years (maximum six years in total).

Remuneration

  • Board Member: £5,649 per annum
  • Committee Member: £3,676 per annum
  • Plus reimbursement of reasonable out‑of‑pocket expenses.

Time Commitment

  • Board Members attend six Board meetings per year, together with two annual strategy/away days.
  • Board Members also serve on a sub‑committee which meets four times annually.
  • Committee Members attend committee meetings and are invited to participate in Board workshops throughout the year.
  • Additional time should be allowed for essential learning, development and occasional events.
