Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a highly respected manufacturing business at its site in Middlesbrough. The Role
Reporting to the Group Maintenance Manager and Site Maintenance Supervisor, you'll play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the site's mechanical equipment.
Key Duties
- Respond to mechanical breakdowns and carry out fault-finding activities.
- Install, maintain and repair a wide range of mechanical plant and equipment.
- Record maintenance activities using the site's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Support the delivery of minor engineering projects across the site.
- Work safely at all times, ensuring compliance with site procedures, health and safety legislation and industry regulations.
- Assist with general site maintenance activities where required.
Requirements
To be successful, you'll have:
- A completed mechanical apprenticeship.
- A minimum Level 3 qualification (BTEC, ONC or equivalent) in a mechanical discipline.
- Experience maintaining industrial mechanical equipment within a manufacturing, chemical or process environment.
- Knowledge of centrifugal, vane and air-operated diaphragm pumps.
- Experience working with a variety of industrial valves, particularly ball valves.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to support wider site maintenance activities.
It would be advantageous if you also have:
- Experience working within the chemical or COMAH industry.
- Knowledge of ATEX environments and hazardous area working.
- Experience with pneumatic systems.
- Additional maintenance skills outside your core mechanical discipline.
