Acorn by Synergie is recruiting Wax & Core Department Operatives to join Howmet Aerospace, a global leader in aerospace manufacturing, based in Exeter. Key Duties
- Wax Operative: Shape wax moulds using specialist tools, knives, and Bunsen burners. Complete intricate, hands-on work with a high level of accuracy. Use transferable skills from sewing, crafting, model making, jewellery making, electronics, or similar precision-based activities.
- Core Department Operative: Produce ceramic cores used in aerospace casting processes. Operate machinery and follow detailed manufacturing procedures. Support production activities within a controlled manufacturing environment.
- Wax Injection Operator: Operate wax injection machinery. Change die patterns and tooling as required. Carry out quality inspections and basic machine checks. Ensure products meet required quality standards.
Requirements
- Ability to work a rotating shift pattern.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed work instructions.
- Comfortable working in a physically active manufacturing environment.
- Good manual dexterity and practical skills.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
- Previous manufacturing or production experience is beneficial but not essential.
Working Hours & Pay
- Starting pay: £15.93 per hour.
- Monday to Friday.
- Rotating shifts: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm.
