Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Maintenance Team Leader for a leading food manufacturing business in Ilminster. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of engineers in a fast-paced environment, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is carried out efficiently while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Duties
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance engineers, managing performance, attendance, and development.
- Prioritise and issue daily work to site engineers, ensuring all maintenance duties meet company standards and Health & Safety procedures.
- Provide cover for breakdowns, projects, and planned preventative maintenance to improve OEE and reduce wastage.
- Manage maintenance budget, stores, work order planning, and CMMS accuracy.
- Conduct root cause analysis to reduce recurring breakdowns and improve operational efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement projects across the site.
Requirements
- Strong leadership, people management, and communication skills - Essential.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities - Essential.
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing maintenance.
- Experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) - Desirable.
- Formal electrical or mechanical qualifications (HNC/Degree) - Desirable.
