Acorn by Synergie is recruiting Cable Engineers to work across Kent and Surrey, supporting FTTH delivery on the Openreach network.
Key Duties:
- Carry out PIA installation works as part of a delivery team.
- Rodding and roping, fibre blowing, and heavy cable pulling.
- Install fibre optic cables on overhead and underground FTTH networks.
- Work with UTP, fibre, and CATV cabling.
- Set up sites in line with NRSWA and traffic management requirements.
- Manage permits and noticing requirements.
- Read schematics and prepare as-built drawings.
- Identify site issues early and promote near-miss and positive intervention reporting.
- Communicate progress and deviations to the Project Manager.
- Measure and report work completed accurately.
- Locate and report blockages to Openreach and CityFibre standards.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years' experience on FTTH / Openreach networks.
- Proven background in civil works and fibre cabling.
- Experience working in BT Openreach ducts and infrastructure (overhead and underground).
- BT PIA accreditations: S0001, S0002, SA007, SA008.
- N27, N28, N23, N39, K08.
- IPAF 1b.
- NRSWA 01.
- First Aid at Work.
- Clean UK driving licence.
- CSCS card.
- Strong communication and teamworking skills.
- Willingness to travel and learn fibre splicing and UTP cabling.
