Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Plant Marshal with a Slinger Ticket to work on an ongoing temporary basis in Exeter, Devon.
Key Duties
- Direct and marshal plant machinery, delivery vehicles, and site traffic to ensure safe movement around the construction site.
- Perform Slinger/Signaller duties by attaching, securing, and guiding loads during crane lifting operations.
- Communicate effectively with crane operators using recognised hand signals and radio communication.
- Conduct pre-lift checks, ensuring lifting accessories were suitable, inspected, and used correctly.
- Establish and maintain exclusion zones around lifting and plant operating areas.
- Monitor pedestrian routes and control access to hazardous work areas.
- Assist with planning and coordinating lifting operations in accordance with lift plans and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with site health and safety procedures and company policies.
- Report hazards, near misses, and unsafe working practices to site management.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, crane operators, and construction teams to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Maintain excellent situational awareness in high-risk environments while prioritising the safety of personnel, equipment, and the public.
Requirements
- CPCS/NPORS Plant Marshal qualification.
- CPCS/NPORS Slinger/Signaller qualification.
- Strong understanding of lifting operations, traffic management, and construction site safety.
- Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and hazard awareness.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced construction environments.
