Acorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of Exeter City Council for 6 Green Space and Cleansing Operatives to support local environmental services across Exeter. Working Hours
- Shift start times between 5am and 7am.
- Finish times vary between 1pm and 6pm.
- Working 3-5 days out of 7, depending on the role.
- Weekend availability for at least one day is preferred.
- 7.5-hour shifts include a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
- 10.5-hour shifts include 1.5 hours of unpaid breaks.
Key Duties
As a Green Space and Cleansing Operative, you'll play an important role in keeping Exeter clean, safe and looking its best. Your duties will include:
- Removing litter and emptying litter bins.
- Cleaning public spaces, including car parks and public toilets.
- Removing small amounts of graffiti and fly-posting.
- Trimming or removing weeds in parks and on roadsides.
- Carrying out basic inspections and reporting maintenance issues.
- Reporting fly tipping, damaged street furniture, abandoned vehicles and other environmental concerns.
- Completing basic paperwork, including inspection records.
- Following safe working practices and Exeter City Council procedures at all times.
Training Provided
Successful applicants will receive full training across a variety of cleansing services, including:
- City Centre solo sweeping.
- Van routes.
- Deep cleaning.
- Car park cleaning.
- Public toilet cleaning.
