Role overview
We are looking for an experienced Account Manager/Senior Account Executive with strong knowledge of the insurance and price comparison markets. The ideal candidate will have excellent emotional intelligence to build and maintain key stakeholder relationships. This role requires a highly organised, commercially aware professional who can manage and hold internal teams and external partners accountable. Duties include administrative and governance tasks to ensure regulatory compliance and high operational standards. Knowledge of travel and pet insurance is desirable.
The Account Manager will report to the Associate Director of Commercial but will have regular contact with all areas of the business. Most of our partners are based in and around London, so accessibility to London is essential. We expect around two face-to-face meetings per month (subject to fluctuation) and quarterly visits to West Wales, where the business is based. However, remote working is the norm outside of these commitments.
Responsibilities:
- Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key partners, ensuring excellent communication and collaboration. Attend meetings scheduled within our performance management framework, such as QBRs and Annual Review meetings.
- Compliance & Governance: Manage and file annual product governance reviews and other regulatory documentation, ensuring compliance with industry, internal, and partner standards.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare reports and presentations using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to communicate key insights and performance updates.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with partners, understanding their goals, working styles, and how to effectively collaborate.
- Performance Metrics: Define and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) related to service delivery and performance.
- Contract Management: Ensure robust, fit-for-purpose contracts are in place and regularly reviewed. Manage and negotiate any necessary amendments.
- Change Management: Coordinate, oversee, and ensure the successful delivery of business changes across both our organisation and our partners.
- Operational Efficiency: Establish effective and efficient processes and working practices between our business and partners.
Skills & experience:
- Strong insurance industry knowledge and awareness of the price comparison website (PCW) market.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent emotional intelligence, communication, and interpersonal skills - a friendly and affable personality that fosters strong relationships.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence key decisions.
- Highly organised with a keen eye for attention to detail.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Capable of applying influencing and creative thinking skills to resolve service-level issues or business change challenges.
- Accountability & Delivery: Ability to secure commitment to goals and hold partners accountable for delivering agreed outcomes.
- Commercial Awareness: Understanding of business metrics and performance drivers.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Data Analysis: Ability to interpret insights from BI tools effectively.
